About the project

India's languages are finally getting the speech technology they deserve — but only as fast as native speakers can teach the models. This pilot builds the teaching material.

You'll transcribe speech audio in your language exactly as spoken, segment it into clean utterances, and tag the noise and non-speech moments that models must learn to ignore. The pilot covers about one hour of audio per language across six languages, with quality review built into the workflow. Strong pilot contributors are the natural first choice when the full program scales.

Who we're looking for

Native or fluent speakers of Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam who read and write the script confidently
Strong listening skills — disfluencies, repetitions and mumbles included
Detail-oriented people who genuinely read guidelines
