Delete your ConsultBae Gigs account

Delete it in the app or on the website

Freelancers and vendors can delete their own account, in the ConsultBae Gigs app for Android or iPhone, or on the website:

1. Sign in to the app, or sign in on the website.
2. Open Profile.
3. At the bottom of the page, under “Delete my account”, choose Delete my account.
4. Type DELETE in the box, and choose Delete my account again to confirm.

Your account is deleted at once and you are signed out. If your account has payout records, the same button closes it at once and deletes everything except those records (see “What is kept” below), and you are signed out on every device.

If you cannot sign in

Write to support@consultbae.com from the email address of the account, and ask for the account to be deleted. We delete it once we have checked that the request comes from that address. A ConsultBae staff account is closed by an administrator.

What is deleted

Everything that belongs to the account:

• your sign-in: your email address and password, and any Google, Discord or Apple sign-in linked to the account;
• your profile and your freelancer or vendor details: your name, contact numbers, location, languages, skills, equipment and everything else you entered;
• your payment details and your profile picture;
• your applications and your places on projects;
• your notifications, your notification settings and the phones or browsers registered to receive them;
• what our team noted about your profile.

What is kept, and why

• Payout records. If you have been paid through ConsultBae Gigs, the record of each payout (its amount, its date and its project), with the name and email address it was paid to, is kept, because Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep financial records: until the end of the eighth financial year after the year of your last payout (India’s financial year ends on 31 March). Then they are deleted, and the closed account with them. Nobody can sign in to a closed account.
• Our log of actions on the platform. Entries such as “an application was approved” or “an account was deleted” stay in our security log. They refer to the account by an internal number, not by your name or email address.

How soon

At once. When you confirm, the account and everything listed under “What is deleted” leave our live database immediately (with payout records, everything but those records, and the account is closed). Our database provider also keeps a daily backup of the database for seven days, to recover from a failure, so a copy can remain in those backups for up to seven days before it is gone for good.
